Meet Michelle Morrison
Bookkeeper/Consultant, Bachelor of Business, Certified Bookkeeper
My journey to become a bookkeeper began 24 years ago in my first job as an assistant accountant at Golden Bay Cement. From here I travelled overseas gaining experience across multiple industries and roles within accounting and systems. Back home in New Zealand I was employed by Manukau City Council in the Finance department and had the opportunity of being part of a team to implement PeopleSoft Financials within an organisation wide business transformation project. In 2010 I also had the opportunity to be part of the amalgamation of Auckland Council which allowed me to peruse my passion in the systems and accounting space.
I am a certified member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers and have built strong relationships with Accountants and Tax Agents. Before taking on bookkeeping, I was an ACA member with Chartered Accountants Australia & New Zealand which was a great way to build networks and gain technical knowledge.
Bookkeeping has allowed me to be there for my family so I understand the pressures of running my own business while balancing family life.
Running, hockey, waterskiing and fishing are amongst my favourite pastimes and provide both enjoyment with my family and a release from life's daily pressures.
I have formed Blue Wave Bookkeeping & Consultancy to offer you a personalised, friendly bookkeeping service covering all aspects of accounts processing including system advisory and business planning.
